In our opening chatter we talk about what's been happening since we last recorded. What’s on Our Timeline? The timeline topic is brought to us by Aajahle on TikTok. Aajahle decided to go on social media asking us for advice, specifically about how we deal with our men and money.. Let’s Talk Through It Our first friend has been with her man for a little over a year. She's a nurse and he's a respiratory therapist. They moved in together a little over three months ago. He’s been carrying most of the bills, including his mortgage since it's his house. Last week, he found out that he would be taking a 12% pay cut at work and asked if she was in the financial position to help pay for more of the household bills. Deep down, she really doesn't think she should have to help offset his loss of income, especially since she’s not his wife. He's the man and he should figure out a way to make this happen, right? One of our other friends and her children's father and I have been together for 20 plus years. They have three beautiful children together and just welcomed their first grandbaby. She loves him dearly and wants to get married. They had plans to get married on their 25th anniversary and now the finances are a bit tight because they have custody of our son's baby while he's deployed. She’s told him several times that she would be okay with just going to the courthouse, but he says that he doesn't want to do that. She feels like he really doesn't want to get married and is asking how can she convince him that she doesn't care about the wedding and to let him know that she just wants to be married? Until we meet again. Pray! Work! Slay! And Show Off Your Melanated Excellence!
